Do E46 head units fit/work in a '99 ti?

Looking for a head unit with CD for the 09/98 ti. I prefer the BMW ones for look, lighting, and ease of installation. I've read that the CD43 will work/fit, but are there other stock options?

E46 head units are much wider than standard sized head units, the CD43 is your only option for a factory CD player

It's really not that tough to do the install (in fact the easiest install I've ever done)...plenty of units can be had with red illumination. As for the look, yeah, I like the stock ones. I miss my weather stations too. Pioneer has a nice looking one that has red illumination.

I wish my Pioneer had red/orange illumination... I don't think mine could be anymore blue or bright.

I have a pioneer head unit with red. I wanted something real close to looking oem. It looks great. Gloss black with red. I'll post a pic tomorrow.
