Default hello

Hello everyone. The reason i'm here is (of course) because i have just bought a manual 1997 318ti. This car just amazes me. It handles better than any other car that i have driven, and its bone stock. I am a bit lacking in the knowledge department though, i know very little about these cars. And by little, i mean nothing lol. I have been around BMWs for a few years now and accumulated some knowledge, as my father owns a 325is and an 850ci, but hardly any of that can be used on the ti. And i was just lucky enough to stumble upon a site dedicated to these unique little cars. So thank you everyone on this board for all of the useful info . I will probably have many questions to annoy you with. And yes, i know how to use the search bar lol.

Welcome Echo. I know how you feel but there is so much information in the knowledge base that you can spend hours browsing through the various topics.
How about some pics!!

googling 318ti? I think that's how a lot of people find this site, definitely post some pics of your ti, maybe some of your dads cars too, I love the 8-series

Yeah yeah, i'll see about those pics. I'll see if i can "borrow" my dad's camera for a bit for some nice ones, he's the only one with a decent camera around here. But i actually found this site through the bimmer forums. I thought that might be the best source, but a handy link directed me here. But actually, my dad just snagged the 850ci a few weeks ago. He had been looking around for them a while and one just really conveniently popped up on auto trader, so he jumped on it. Black on Black too, very nice. But i noticed something pretty different (or at least i think) on my ti. It has a california sunroof, any info on this? Did it only come on specific models or something? But then again, talk is cheap. I'll get some pics up as soon as i can. Oh, and thanks for the replies

Nah nothing very special on a 97 (I think) my 97 has the cali top too. Some earlier cars with the cali top were "california editions" but I think it was just an option on the 97's. BTW where in WA do you live? My parents live by Walla Walla just wondering if you were anywhere near there.
