The Camaro may have a lot of HP but the brakes are worth crap. I wonder if the thottle linkage came loose on the M3? That cop could have killed someone when he almost t-boned the other cop car. I guess this is why in many parts of the country cops are not allow to chase. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-06-2005, 04:08 AM | #7 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | it'd be nice if they got more training on how to actually drive. the guy is totally being schooled by a 15 year old! lol __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 12-06-2005, 04:13 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | There are schools at Summit Point Raceway and VIR where people get special training. Cops, State Department, Military. At VIR they learn to shoot through moving cars and practice persuits at night on the track with no lights. Another technique is bump and pin. The cop on the video was a menace. More so than the 15 year old. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-06-2005, 04:31 AM | #9 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti There are schools at Summit Point Raceway and VIR where people get special training. When the germans made the car they put into account that they have the fastest freeway in the world and the fact that many people commute on it everyday in the triple digits. And you would never see such horrible cars like the Crown Victoria as a police car over there. you would see a BMW, VW, Mercedes or Opel. http://www.bundespolizei.de/cln_029/...rmationen.html Heres a site a saw thats pretty cool. They may not be BMW's, but those Skyline, RX-7, EVO VII, and XJ220 cop cars are pretty bad ass. http://speedoptions.com/articles/3090/l | | | 12-06-2005, 04:21 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 1,305 | this video is unreal, those guys are retarted. supercharged european rocket going from 0-60 in 5 seconds...too f-ing funny | | | 12-06-2005, 04:49 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | The Evo III puts out about 240, but I don't think that was available in the states. Stocker puts out around 190. The Camaro pursuit cars are quite possibly the most dangerous car available. Solid beam axles? Good for running down trucks and killing rednecks (the z28 is often called the "redneck coffin"), but the Ford Police Interceptor is a much better machine for passenger cars. These things will seriously give you a run for the money. Anyway, I'm continually astonished at the stupidity of highway patrol. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
