(Briansol here I assume). My name is James and I am a here and there, currently full time college student. I browsed around the board found a lot of good information. Did my first oil change last night with my most recent car purchase. Probably the easiest oil to change that I have done since it uses a filter cartridge; which to me is a lot cleaner looking and less mess when replacing. A 1995 BMW 318ti with the "M-package" I believe. Don't know how to tell exactly what it was meant to have stock other than posting in your VIN thread which I will do a bit later. I'm sticking with z6crx since that's really the first car I did anything with, and technically my first car. Only swapped the engine in it because the engine died about a month after I got it, never did any work on cars myself before, not even an oil change. Already planning on swapping the rear differential out for better highway gas mileage but I want to keep the LSD since it snows/ices here in Pittsburgh especially on hills. So that's about it and this forum looks pretty good. | | | 02-07-2009, 04:30 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Bethlehem, PA Posts: 1,106 | looks really nice.. not a big fan of those rims tho.. to many people have them, and they are boring.. i like the 5 spoke rims better, or aftermarket.. if ya need parts, im close to Philly. =] , which, is not that close to you, but its in teh same state =] there are a few people on here from pittsburg. __________________ Check out our new website! https://soltechsolutionsllc.com/ Green Your Decor with the Aspect! If you have half cloth and half leather seats then it should be the sport package. You unfortunately don't have the Clubsport (which has all the M-tech bumpers and side moldings) From your pictures it looks like the dash is tan, so it could just be a base model or an active package. You have an OEM rear spoiler, which is somewhat sought after and expensive if you were to buy one new. Hope you find plenty more useful info on this site! -Randy __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Not so stock anymore!.... Other than the fact of it being rwd it drives almost exactly the same mostly due to the short gearing and high rpms on the highway and similar power, the crx seemed a bit faster though. The rims aren't the stock ones, the guy had winter tires on them and put hem on his convertible and just traded them out before selling . However it does have black leather seats, and drilled slotted rotors that appear to be a bit larger than a few others I have seen with "BMW" in white lettering on them. Also just under the spoiler has an M emblem as well as on the shifter but i know that can easily be added. | | | 02-08-2009, 01:22 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | black leather seats would make it a base or active package, does it have cruise control? | | | 02-08-2009, 01:29 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Damascus, Maryland Posts: 434 | Quote: Originally Posted by z6crx Also just under the spoiler has an M emblem as well as on the shifter but i know that can easily be added. | So legit! Nice car! __________________ | | | 02-08-2009, 01:35 AM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Pittburgh, PA Posts: 9 | no cruise control. Then again I never really cared if it was there or not for any car. I always get it to screw up, randomly turn on and try to kill me in low speed traffic. | | | 02-08-2009, 01:40 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | well then it's a base model, oh, I just noticed you don't have a sunroof, believe it or not, ti's without sunroofs tend to be more desirable than ti's with the standard sunroof | | | 02-08-2009, 01:53 AM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Pittburgh, PA Posts: 9 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak well then it's a base model, oh, I just noticed you don't have a sunroof, believe it or not, ti's without sunroofs tend to be more desirable than ti's with the standard sunroof | Same thing goes with some Hondas. Less stuff to break and being lighter, and of course leaking seems to be an issue with any sunroof. So I have a base model with a brake upgrade package and LSD pretty much. i would imagine autocrossers love this car then. Something I've been meaning to try out, watched a lot locally, just never signed up. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
