Now the car feels and looks awesome. It handles so much better compared to stock. It makes my dreadful 2 hour commute from home to work a little more bearable. | | | 06-28-2005, 03:11 PM | #2 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | How much did you lower it? (i/e i need some clearance) | I think the M-technic suspension setup only drops your car about a 0.5"-1.0". The BavAuto/Bilstein Sport setup will drop you about 1.5" after it settles. As bad as the streets are in SF, I've been able to manage (and I have the BavAuto/Bilstein setup). It's just some of the areas that they're constantly doing work on, like Mission St. in the SOMA area. That'll rattle you, even at 30 mph. But clearance isn't as much of a problem as ride comfort is. __________________ moku 1996 318ti Cali Top w/ Downing/Atlanta Supercharger 2003 M3 w/ CSL trunk, splitters, & diffuser | | | 06-28-2005, 09:46 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I bought lowering caps for my front suspension. I plan on installing them soon. Was this a straightforward job? I bought a really nice clamshell spring compressor, to reduce my anxiety.
