Default m44 motor

is there anyone here that has a m44 motor that:
has been swapped out for another motor (or)
has blown rings?

looking to build a m44 from the ground up including internals and i need a base motor to start with.

Thanks!

FYI there is a pretty cheap M44 motor on ebay now from a Z3.

thanks for your suggestions. i am in the market for good motors... however, i would prefer a tired motor or low compression.

and i did see the motor on ebay.. i would say a it's good deal for a motor without any known problems. just tryin to keep costs down and i already have a healthy motor in the car.
