I think my silver '97 is an Active (sunroof, cruise, no fog lights, 5-speed, ASC, leather seats and wheel). I'm the second owner, have had it since 2004, now a bit over 150k miles. This replaced a 750il and think I came out with the better car. It's stock except for the xenon low beams. This daily commuter will be back on the road as soon as I replace the Bowden cable that opens the heater box. Have the part, taking the dash apart this weekend. It's a perfect city car, not the most comfortable on long drives but fun on twisty back roads.

Hello, I have an Alpine white 1998 318ti M Sport that I bought from the original owners. It came with ALL the service records from day one. It has an engine rebuild a few years ago. The car is very clean...

It has new head lights, driving lights, corner/side marker lights, M3 lip spoiler, M logo floor mats, new stainless muffler, air intake, aluminum pedals, radiator, water pump, thermostat & housing, amplifier, woofer, head unit, speakers..! All within 9 months.

I need struts & lowering springs that Im ordering and will seek advice on this site. Need regulator installed. .. I have new one. Also getting 18" wheels & selling my MSport wheels with new condition tires. I had a buyer for the M sport rims here but lost his number when cell crashed!

Regards

Ikon

Thumbs up MY 1998 318ti MTech Cali 5 speed

New Member to this particular BMW forum.
Currently own 5 other BMW's and do all the maintenance and repairs myself with another BMW buddy of mine. We maintain both of our fleets together.
SO, we are not newbies by any stretch of the imagination.

Pretty excited to have this new rare one.... just not totally sure how it will fit into the herd right now though ! Looks to be my new summer toy.
Have had it about 6 months now and been diving into assorted repairs as well as maintenance.

I see good times ahead in this one.

Default Mtech

I have never seen a msport with a California top. But they could have been ordered in such way. Nice customs mM3mirrors though too. Are they heated and all?

Default RE: MY 1998 318ti MTech Cali 5 speed

Honestly .... not sure if the mirrors are heated or not as I have never driven it when the weather was that cold.
Car is not "Loaded" with options as it does not have heated seats or Cruise.
The car looks to be entirely stock original and the options on the car match up to the factory options list......

Looks to be a very rare one. Would love to know exactly how rare though.
How many MTech/Msport California 5 spd's were made ?

Default 318ti

Idk honestly how rare it may be in the end. I know those mirrors were added on by a previous owner. But they look nice. My 318ti had heated seats, the previous owner got rid of them sadly(the wire hookups are now just sitting there) but no cruise control. I not even know they offered cruise control with a 5 speed.
