This my just be a trial build for my next one. This is kinda my tribute to the bmw m12 from the 80s that ran 79psi and made 1400 estimated horsepower. | | | 01-13-2017, 08:07 PM | #2 | Member Join Date: Mar 2016 Location: Cedar Park Posts: 65 | Quote: Originally Posted by andakn Running my own concoction, so we will see how it works. Seems like a very expensive trial build though, but of course "expensive" is relative, my expensive might be your cheap haha I've never heard of the M12, sounds incredible though I'll have to look into it more! I encourage more use of the M44 it's overlooked so much. So threads like these are always up lifting to see and hopefully it will encourage more use of the M4x motors and increase the aftermarket as well! So it's a win/win Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | | | 01-15-2017, 09:40 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | Finished up the oil and intercooler mount today. Waiting on some more parts to continue on with boost piping. Also my late night self control with ebay is not good. I guess i bought next winter's project already. I'll post some pics when it arrives. | | | 03-03-2017, 10:48 AM | #4 | Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: NorCal Posts: 33 | Quote: Originally Posted by slo318TI Wow, a true gentleman and a scholar! Crying here, I have had two and they have gotten lost along the way... both were 1973 with the round taillights. Hopefully I will have the rotating assembly in this weekend | | | 01-22-2017, 04:10 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | Put the last cost of glyptal on, using a radiant space heater to cure it. Its got the block temp up to 135degF. Hopefully I'll put the crank and pistons in tomarrow. | | | 01-25-2017, 11:03 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | Got all the covers painted and yes even the rear main plate. | | | 01-27-2017, 07:29 AM | #8 | Member Join Date: Mar 2016 Location: Cedar Park Posts: 65 | Looking wicked really excited to see this thing come together! In all honesty, hopefully it will hit 1000hp, or fail spectacularly | | | 01-27-2017, 05:17 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Mar 2016 Location: Cedar Park Posts: 65 | Quote: Originally Posted by andakn I'm going to keep turning it up until i start breaking stuff. Looks like you're going to have the most BA M44 to date, you've inspired me to scrap my ITB kit I was about to run and go down the super charger route Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | | | 01-27-2017, 06:21 PM | #11 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | On my stock engine with the dasc i was running 10psi and 100 shot of nitrous and making sub 13 sec. Passes. And could still out handle m3s on the track. Now im going for something most have never seen otherwise i would of stuck with that setup | | | 01-27-2017, 06:28 PM | #12 | Member Join Date: Mar 2016 Location: Cedar Park Posts: 65 | Quote: Originally Posted by andakn On my stock engine with the dasc i was running 10psi and 100 shot of nitrous and making sub 13 sec. Also have you heard of the GKD supercharger kit? They utilize their own manifold etc. and let you source out an Easton M45 Mini Cooper S super charger. That's the kit I'm going to go with Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | | | 01-27-2017, 06:31 PM | #13 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | Hold out and get a real dasc. Haven't heard good things about that kit. And i was running a wet kit | | | 01-27-2017, 07:04 PM | #14 | Member Join Date: Mar 2016 Location: Cedar Park Posts: 65 | Quote: Originally Posted by andakn Hold out and get a real dasc.
