Posts: 3,156 | Steve: I wanted to ask you if some of these other related posts should maybe be 'distilled' and added to the Compact6 area... As you thought, it does get a bit redundant at times, but the thread on the Z3 exhaust fitting the ti for example is excellent info that should possibly be moved. I'm sure there are other things which have been posted, which contain information that only applies to swapped tis (but is certainly interesting information for other ti owners). This is the sort of thing that I believe the Compact6 section is 'designed' for. How does this sound? PS I obviously cannot move things around the forum here, but could weed through the relevant posts and PM links to you for things I think that should be moved in. Is this something you might want me to do? | | | 01-09-2006, 04:50 PM | #40 | Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: VA. beach Posts: 61 | 97 318ti- 99 3.2L M3 obd I conversion. | | | 01-09-2006, 05:58 PM | #41 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | !!!CONSTRUCTION ZONE!!! Just to let you all know: I will be moving the majority of this 'roll call' into the Compact6 section soon. I'm not sure what to do with the chit-chat posts within the thread yet... Probably just leave them, then you can delete your posts if you want, or we will re-name the thread so those with few posts don't loose the count. This is not a punishment, just trying to organize and neaten things up. If you have a swapped ti and do not have the ability to post (please note stricter rules for posting) in Compact6 please let Steve know so you can post as well as view. (all members can view) Naughty posters will have irrevelant posts removed. I think the threads should perhaps be started outside of Compact6, and moved in later. I've noticed the threads tend to 'drift' off topic as they grow longer... For anyone else wanting to post: don't worry! We all see the new posts so we will hear you! Anyone can PM me as well... | | | 03-03-2006, 07:44 PM | #42 | Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Exton, PA Posts: 75 | About a month ago, after owning my Ti for about 6 months, I blew my M44. So last weekend after scraping up $3200 for a totalled '98 M3, I began my swap. Worked from noon till 5 on saturday, 11 till 4 on sunday, and 2 till 5 on tuesday. After such a small amount of work, my swap is almost completed. Tomorrow is saturday, and I have the whole weekend off work, so I'm hoping I can get all of the mechanical work finished, and just have wiring and the EWS alignment left by sunday night. So far the swap has been fairly easy, only problems I've run into so far is the exhaust not bolting up, which will be a fairly easy fix. I can't wait for the newly found horse power And on that note, how do I get priveleges to post in the Compact 6 section? | | | 03-03-2006, 08:00 PM | #43 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | i don't know if J!m can authorize you or not. steven's going to be away this weekend, but i'd PM both him (1996 328ti) and J!m and ask to be added, one of them will be able to do it eventually __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 03-26-2006, 12:58 AM | #44 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Location: Northern IL Posts: 263 | I joined the group myself. all you have to do is go in to User CP, and on the left side under Miscellaneous section go to group memberships and join the group. As far as I know thats all you have to do, smarter people may know better, but i was able to post in the compact 6 lounge. | | | 05-19-2006, 04:05 AM | #45 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 1 | Here comes another Just joined and thought I would add my ti to the list. 97 Cali roof with 3.2 swap, M3 brakes, wheels, trans and vaders as well as the bumper and mirrors. UUC shift kit and Bilstein shocks with H&R springs. Chip and under drive pulleys with M coupe exhaust and X brace. Cold air intake, camber plates and Euro lights. (Other stuff too, but hard to remember it all these days) Still looking for a LS diff to add to the swap. These conversions are a blast to drive! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
