But I Work at an auto parts store, so I see plenty of cleaning supplies. Ive noticed the best brand for leather, and vinyl is Black Magic. It makes yours tires and leather look like its wet, and doesnt necessarily leave it greasy. But as many others have noted, there is a product for leather, and a product for rubber/vinyl. Itd be recommended to use both. As for the exterior, I just a gold maguires car wash. But then I use the Dupont Teflon Spray On Wax. You just spray it on, and wipe it off. Then every day when I Get home from work, I wipe it down with the California Car Duster. That way I have to clean it once a week, and I dont even need to do it that much. | | | 05-29-2005, 06:36 PM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Concord Posts: 326 | Quote: Originally Posted by jflip2002 Im new to this site, so I may be a little late with the posting. Water, clean rag. I'll add a drop of woolite if it's really dirty. 2. Vinylex. Or Vinyltex, I forget how it's spelled. 3. Gummi-Pflege (rubber care). BMW doesn't make it anymore. The only place I know that sells similar stuff is Pelican Parts. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 11-30-2005, 03:10 PM | #21 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Marietta GA Posts: 14 | Thank you ! Will look for the stuff I need asap. Will check with BMW Munich whether they have rubber care next time I go there. __________________ La donna e mobile. | | | 11-30-2005, 07:18 PM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Quote: Originally Posted by Morea318 Will check with BMW Munich whether they have rubber care next time I go there. | They discontinued Gummi-Pflege; there are similar products out there though. If you find something let me know, I'd be willing to pick up a tube or two. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 12-02-2005, 02:45 PM | #23 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Marietta GA Posts: 14 | ok, but it'll be Febr/March, will let you know. __________________ La donna e mobile. | | | 12-02-2005, 03:21 PM | #24 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Marietta GA Posts: 14 | rubber care sorry, me again. This topic intrigued me so I just called BMW Munich. They do not have the rubber care tube any longer - as you mentioned - but a spray now (which I would not take). Pelicanparts.com is selling the 1 Z (einszett) rubber care stick, 100 ml, which they claim to be UV-"stable" (I looked at their website). Guess I'll also go with 1 Z. I used vaseline in the meantime, since I had to do something (and my car spent 6 weeks in the shipping container). __________________ La donna e mobile. | | | 10-13-2010, 04:14 PM | #25 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: Severna Park, MD Posts: 126 | Y'know, the dealer has great stuff, it being the dealer and all. And honestly, my local dealership prices their cleaning supplies on par with the stuff you can get the auto parts store. I figure if it works for the cars in their showroom, it's game for my ride, too. | | | 10-14-2010, 03:38 PM | #26 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Wow, resurrection of a nearly 5-year old thread. They are also recommended by CCAT ( Classic Car Association fo Thailand) | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
