got it 'not' to start again yesterday... buddy (neibor-mechanic) came over with his diagnose tool & plugged it in... code 111111 (I think it was) - crank position sensor!

which kinda makes sense, since without it the ecu does not know where the first cylinder is (I'm told)...

funny thing though... once it is running, and the codes are cleared - the CPS fault code does not come back. only @ start up...

hope thats all it is... we'll see.

Based on the pictures I've seen of the DASC manifold you will have to remove it to get to the sensor on the back. They relays are cheap. I think I payed 35$ for both the main ECU relay and the fuel pump relay.

Any news? Was it the crank position sensor?

yes that is exactly what it was... crank position sensor was the only code thrown & once it was replaced - no issues to report.

sounds like a vaccum problem ...when its cold and not crankin over a common problem is your crankcase valve which is located under top of motor (rite inder firewall) follow hose from valvecover to crankcase valve...dont forget to check that hose for leaks...crankcase valves cost about 80 to 90 dollars at dealer

how about when its cold and crankin ok, but wont idle or start, unless you step on the gas pedal and give it some gas, basically rev it a little for a few seconds then it idles and runs fine.

yes, that was the prelude to it not starting at all, eventually...
