I'm new to the forum and I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Tomek, I'm on my second 318ti. My first one was an S52 swap that I had for 3 years and currently I have an S54 swap which I built this past summer. Built in AZ but now living in Madison, WI. Oddly enough, I have never driven a stock and sorted ti. I only drove my cars as 4 cylinders a few miles each in poor mechanical shape right before tearing them apart. Anyways, here's a few pictures. Some specs: 1995 318ti 2005 S54 E36 ZF 5 speed and matching drive shaft 3.73 Medium case LSD Stock S54 flywheel and pressure plate with S52 friction plate Shark Injector Software eBay Headers M Roadster mufflers 330i front brakes, E46 325i rear calipers, M Roadster master and booster SS brake lines Stock suspension DS1 wheels with Pilot Super Sport tires Last edited by tomeks; 01-06-2017 at 03:40 AM. | | | 01-05-2017, 03:22 AM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2016 Location: Denver Posts: 16 | OMG, Oh so awesome, but the plate kinda gives away your sleeper status but I bet it is a BLAST to drive!! More details on the additional lights, I'm looking for some help in the canyons... Must be really fast with an s54. Have you ever measured any 0-60 or 1/4 mile times? __________________ | | | 01-05-2017, 05:17 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Mar 2016 Location: Cedar Park Posts: 65 | Wow that's the dream build right there! I was put off originally because I heard these swaps were a wicked PITA, how was it for you? The lights are just KC HiLites I picked up at Autozone, wired to a switch in one of the blank spots by the ASC switch. For now they are just screwed into the bumper but they're not aimed well. I will be making a bracket for them in the near future. | | | 01-06-2017, 03:29 AM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2017 Location: Madison, WI Posts: 16 | Quote: Originally Posted by m-technik_ti That's an awesome, rare build!! But that's just based on hp to weight. I'll do actual runs once it gets warmer out. | | | 01-06-2017, 03:33 AM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2017 Location: Madison, WI Posts: 16 | Quote: Originally Posted by slo318TI Wow that's the dream build right there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | It's definitely not for the faint of heart, It helped a lot that It wasn't my first swap and I have a good amount of experience in wiring. As with any swap, lot of it is in the preparation; research, thorough parts list, and making sure parts are either reusable or replaced. A full donor vehicle helped tremendously as well. | | | 01-06-2017, 03:39 AM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2017 Location: Madison, WI Posts: 16 | Quote: Originally Posted by samdemange great and clean car, congrat | Thanks! | | | 01-06-2017, 03:42 AM | #10 | Member Join Date: Mar 2016 Location: Cedar Park Posts: 65 | Quote: Originally Posted by tomeks It's definitely not for the faint of heart, It helped a lot that It wasn't my first swap and I have a good amount of experience in wiring. I can spin my wheels through third and the 3.73 rear end doesn't help that very much. With this power it mostly just gets into the realm of being able to easily step out if you want to/ are not careful. During the summer 245 super sports do pretty well but I haven't driven it all that much in good conditions yet. Next racing season I will definitely get some track time and use that to help me balance the car. | | | 01-06-2017, 04:44 AM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2017 Location: Madison, WI Posts: 16 | Quote: Originally Posted by andakn You could get some stock 15" hub caps to hide some drag slicks.
