So here is my car. It has Bilstein Sport Struts (Yellow) all around and I'm looking for a nice drop. What is recommended for this car for a nice. This would the drop I would be looking for or a tad bit lower. Any help at all is appreciated. Thanks. | | | 01-29-2015, 10:44 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2015 Location: NYC Queens Posts: 225 | that red one is on H&R springs which is what i'm going to go with so i would get those but i'm open to other suggestions as well. I like the drop on the red one a lot because it's a nice moderate drop for NYC streets and the fact that it's still raked with those springs. I have H&R's on my Miata and love it. I've been trying to google images of 318ti's on Tein S-tech and H-tech springs but no luck. Maybe i'm not looking correctly but i couldn't even find on the TEIN site. I'm thinking perhaps TEIN doesn't make springs specifically for the 318ti? Can springs for any E36 chassis fit/be used on 318ti's? __________________ 92 Nissan Stanza - Backseat Shenanigans and Tom Foolery - sold and would pickup another 94 Del Solo SI - The Go Get Her - sold 94 auto Prelude "S" for slowww - Daily schmaily - sold 91 MX-5 Miataz - Silversurfer - Weekend Bandicoot 96 5-speed 2dr RAV - Purple baby monster - New Daily | | | 02-01-2015, 07:10 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | The answer is, sortof,, the front springs on the E36 are the same other than the normal height and stiffness specs. The rear it depends on the source, and how they intend the springs to be installed. E30 rear springs match the TI you just have to fo the homework on height and stiffness. The rear TI suspension is just a E30 setup.. I like the white car a little better, that red one would be road kill for the spoiler and under tray in my part of the country. But I'm a substance over style guy, I'd rather have the car a tic higher and not have to worry about hitting the front on curbs. Have to be careful over lowering trashes the alignment on the TI and the only right way to fix it, is to buy a modified PRO-3 rear suspension beam. It already has a lot of neg camber and lowering makes it worse. The modified rear beams fix that. H&R springs for the E30 325i Cabrio are 1.4" front and .75" rear while H&R springs specifically for 318ti's are 1.4" front and 1.0" rear. i kinda want the H&R springs for the Cabrio simply because it'll be slightly more raked. __________________ 92 Nissan Stanza - Backseat Shenanigans and Tom Foolery - sold and would pickup another 94 Del Solo SI - The Go Get Her - sold 94 auto Prelude "S" for slowww - Daily schmaily - sold 91 MX-5 Miataz - Silversurfer - Weekend Bandicoot 96 5-speed 2dr RAV - Purple baby monster - New Daily | | | 02-02-2015, 04:46 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Globally Posts: 1,162 | http://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW-...r-springs.aspx TMS list's a combo for Ti's use the part numbers and do a google search for cheapest price and check shipping. I'm hopeful it will get the rear end out of the clouds. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
