Should help people understand what the market is willing to pay for what looks like a typical condition 95 car. | | | 10-25-2011, 08:03 PM | #48 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2011 Location: Flower Mound, TX Posts: 11 | $2,500 The body is in great shape, 1 small door dent, a few minor scratches. No paint fade, no plastic color fade. He kept it in the garage for 16 years. 1 cracked fog light lens. Clean Car-Fax. No evidence of any body work. The interior is spotless. The driver's seat bolster has a little wear, but not torn. I knew the passenger window didn't work, but didn't know about the driver's window. I knew about the AC having problems and saw the oil leak. The brakes were OK on the test drive, but not great (compared to Miata brakes). The owner's manuals were in it, along with a Haynes, the stock air box, a set of brake pads, and two fog lights. New tires. __________________ '95 Black 318ti Club Sport (DD/AutoX), '99 Miata (AutoX) Last edited by EricJ; 10-25-2011 at 08:08 PM. | | | 04-11-2012, 12:48 AM | #49 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Portland, OR Posts: 159 | WBACG5323SAM53722 Figured I would add to this thread for the record. 1995 Hellrot Clubsport. I always thought LSD was standard. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 04-11-2012, 03:31 AM | #51 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Portland, OR Posts: 159 | From what I can tell there were 3 options. Sunroof, lsd, premium sound system. | | | 04-25-2012, 09:03 PM | #52 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Portland, OR Posts: 159 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti No LSD? I have the original window sticker with no mention of LSD. Too bad for me. Might have to add it in the future. I think that would be an appropriate mod for my clubsport | | | 04-26-2012, 02:49 PM | #53 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Check the tag on your diff. If you have an "S" tag, you need to have your diff looked at to see if the clutches are worn out. All clubsports should have an LSD. Unless you have a window sheet or spec sheet from the dealer showing your car wasn't delivered with an LSD, I would suspect something may be wrong with it and causing it to behave as an open unit. The 95's also had issues early on with the diff seals leaking. I know of some cars that ruined their LSD by not realizing it had drained all fluid. Possible that somebody replaced it with the cheaper open diff? | | | 04-26-2012, 03:00 PM | #54 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | From what I can tell LSD was an option for Club Sports. You may have differential issues or you may not have an LSD at all. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! Such very, very interesting Club Sport information! Can you tell us how you're able to get this info? From what I've been able to find, it's possible to get build info on a per car basis, but not for the entire model. I also have a 2002ti, and have run a 1600ti/2002ti Registry for many years. Again, I can get build specifics from BMW on a per car basis, but they have told me they aren't able to get the options/colors/numbers for the entire build of the model. Hence, we have no way of knowing how many were built for each color, how many with sunroofs, how many to be exported, etc. Thanks! vince | | | 09-10-2012, 08:20 PM | #59 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: Toronto Posts: 11 | I got build sheets for all the North American 1.8l manual 318ti, from that I got the Club Sport info. Not exactly sure how to get information for the older cars, such as 2002ti, since BMW doesn't have build sheets for them on their network. | | | 09-11-2012, 07:10 AM | #60 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Supposedly there was also a issue with some units leaking or wearing out the clutches, the dealers were substituting Open diffs on the repair if the customer didn't want to pay.
