I am missing three "pylons" and would be interested in buying a set for both doors. Please put me on the list. I know this is a tough and time consuming to get right on limited resources and time. I needed a few for my 95's door panels and pulled the closest match off a few e36 damaged panels I had. I think I matched perhaps 4 or 5 usable ones. I'm thinking I wound need some in the future. It appears that there is a left set and a right set for the standoff brackets themselves. I.e. #9 and #10. Is your development process accounting for that difference? Thanks! __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! I'm guessing he has a different full-time job/family and that these stand offs are more of a side project to help out the community. I think it is pretty cool that someone is willing to do this and the last thing he needs is a guilt trip from random people on the internet because it isn't done yet. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 04-04-2012, 07:06 PM | #65 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Rodeo, CA Posts: 226 | I just glued my old ones back on....I guess if you aren't careful, you could break them or someone before you took them off? I've fixed several of these Bimmers with the stupid mounts coming off the door panel. Yes, they are numbered... would be fun to try to duplicate them. Good luck. __________________ Love ALL Bimmers. I was for one waiting on these and I also believe that he is doing this as a side thing but I could not afford to wait anymore and ended up buying some used door panels and using the clips on my door panels, couldn't be happier. Demanding that they be done right away is unreal but at least posting some pictures of the prototypes would give people some type of ease. All in all I hope VR does come through because I'd still buy a set just in case. | | | 04-04-2012, 08:23 PM | #67 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Rodeo, CA Posts: 226 | I've been lucky. Several cars like this I had to repair had the pylons or posts were still on the car for easy glueing. Well, I wouldn't say easy, first you have to scratch up the surface you are gluing on the panels, then scratch up the posts that you are gluing back on, then glue them, wait for them to dry and then put it all back together. beats the hell out of having to find used panels and you probably had to repair some of those too. | | | 04-04-2012, 10:00 PM | #68 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Well maybe I am not understanding something, did you send VR money for these already? If so, then I can understand wanting updates and pictures. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 04-04-2012, 10:21 PM | #69 | Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: Virginia Posts: 80 | I'm past being impatient on this. Realizing that the alternative is searching all over for new ones or buying a whole new panel put it into perspective for me. I don't really care how long it takes as long as it actually happens and they actually work. Hell, if he succeeds this will be the end of that problem forever. No more door panels barely hanging on. Sounds nice doesn't it? | | | 04-04-2012, 11:11 PM | #70 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | ^^^That's how I was looking at it. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 04-05-2012, 02:45 AM | #71 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Quote: Originally Posted by Mopho I've been lucky.
