Greetings to you all!! I have been watching this website for a long time since I bought my own ti in Japan back in 2005...and decided to join finally. I lived in Arizona in my childhood then to California for college then came back to Japan for work. In Cali, I owned a Civic SI HTBK and then Corolla GTS (AE86) to drift. "cool-shi" was my license number in Cali. the last letter you can imagine... My first car to buy in Japan, is this '98 special edition 318ti in esteriol blue M3 color with leather heated seats...unfortunately there is only AT tranny in Japan. I have done many mods except in the engine part and also made it AT to 5sp tranny now using 3.91 lsd diff from E30. Originally I had the heavy 18/19" Breyton Vision wheels but changed to lightweight 19"WedsSports SA-67R last year. One of kind would be the brake setup, I fabricated the Lexas LS monoblock 4pot front calipers w/M3CSL rotors and for the rears fabricated the R33 Skyline 2pot calipers w/X5 rotors. And replaced the cat with the R34 Skyline metal cat. looking forward to exchanging informations and making new contacts abroad! also anyone out in Troy,Michigan area i go to business trips occasionally so we can meet up?? thanks, cool-shi | | | 04-08-2010, 06:38 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | nice nice and welcome __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 04-08-2010, 07:13 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Miami, FL Posts: 874 | nice ride dude and welcome | | | 04-08-2010, 02:42 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Nice color. KINGAMR: I lived in Tempe area roadrash: they are small SMD LED tapes that face sideways instead of facing upwards like normal ones and I use them for daylights! | | | 04-09-2010, 02:43 AM | #12 | Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Yokohama, Japan Posts: 40 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak they look like LEDs similar to what's on an Audi welcome, awesome car, I like the brake setup too, out of curiosity, do you still have a working e-brake? | THANKS!! Yup, the e-brake is working with the extra thicker padding on the brake shoes to accommondate the larger diameter housing of the X5. rest is direct fit, its the only OEM rotor with similar heights I investigated. then you need a offset bracket for the caliper. ti has about diameter of 160mm for the brake shoe housing X5 has about diameter of 185mm for the brake shoe housing | | | 04-09-2010, 04:01 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Detroit Posts: 164 | I live about 40 minutes south of Troy, MI...
