Ive heard all the bad things about BavAuto springs, and get a vibe this might be the same kind of thing... its hard to justify when H&R's are so close in price and you know the qaulity your getting is more than A+ ... not trying to harsh your mellow, just trying to get more specs on the setup you offer. And im sure im not the only one wondering. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 07-01-2008, 10:21 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: OC, California Posts: 30 | As stated in the first post.....In the section about the Chasis Kit the springs are: "precision wound progressive rate springs" I will find out ASAP who manufactured the Springs. If it wasn't us. It was OK for RSsport to respond to what was being sold on eBay, but this is not OK. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-03-2008, 02:57 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Ferndale, MD Posts: 462 | I don't know if anyone else feels this way (I have this feeling that steven feels like) but it is kinda screwed up that you are trying to sell things on here and not even a site supporter. I appreciate that you are able to provide some hard to find ti spec stuff, but this site is not run for free. But I do want to thank you for reminding me to become a site supporter. __________________ No trunk for the Junk | | | 07-08-2008, 03:28 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I reopened the threads and he didn't even come back. ?? __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-08-2008, 03:31 AM | #8 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | I think he was a bit hurt since he was offering us top notch merchandise for a fair price and we did not appreciate it. | | | 07-08-2008, 04:50 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | not trying to be crappy in anyway... but top notch merchandise? he didn't even know who wound their springs... whether it was a 3rd party or RD themselves... how top notch can it be? prices... yes, fair / fantastic deal... no way. And i agree with trickie 100%. I sell or try to sell stuff on this forum, the least I can do is fork over $10 to help keep the site going. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 07-08-2008, 05:08 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | I'm with Steven on this... He has given them opportunity to do things the right way and they seem to ignore his requests. If they really want to sell their products here, they should contact him and find out the best way to proceed. Maybe a sponsership? (ala Turner Motorsports...) Also, has anyone really verified their lineage to RacingDynamics? It seems to me that that question is still up in the air... I will make a stop to their warehouse soon and post about the visit. | | | 07-08-2008, 05:56 AM | #12 | Member Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: OC, California Posts: 30 | The only reason I haven't been on here since Thursday daytime is because of the long weekend. As stated previously my Boss had been in Milan and has only just returned now. The springs are wound by RD. Top Notch Yes Excellent Prices Yes Come and check it out if you don't believe me. Steven said he didn't want any money from us in order to advertise products and i'm afraid I am extremely busy so I don't have the time to answer questions regarding the car. I apologize if anyone feels we have abused the site, but originally I just came across the post about our ebay listing and wanted to set things straight. Then I was advised by a site supporter to re-post our available items on a new post......I thought this would be ok but clearly not. Sorry for the confusion Ryan. | | | 07-08-2008, 12:21 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by wolferj I'm with Steven on this... (ala Turner Motorsports...) | I don't want site sponsorships because then I need to 'protect' the sponsor like some other forums. All I wanted was a short PM asking if it was OK. I've never turned anyone down. I don't consider selling product, even at a 'good' price as a contribution to the forum. Bimmerbum, understeer answer questions. They are not here only to sell parts. At least I hope not. That's what I mean by contribute. I've given Tischer their own little area because I've known the parts manager for +10 years. But we are moving on. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-16-2008, 01:27 AM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Santa Barbara, CA Posts: 5 | RD Sport Suspension Kit I joined this forum over 18 months ago but never really had anything useful to post. There are a bunch of smart people on here that really know their stuff about the 318TI. Maybe one of these days I'll actually be able to give advice on something I discover about the E36 compact, but chances are someone here will beat me to it. I read this thread from the beginning and I actually called Ryan at RDSport. I did my research mainly on the Bilstein shocks since that is all that I really wanted. As you may all know, Bilstein makes 3 models for the E36 compact: Sport, HD, and sad to say TC. The TC model is made in China which is ironic since the model is TC (Taiwan/China) but you can't blame Bilstein for having to compete with all the other big shock manufacturers who decided to have things made in China to offer a lower price. Anyway, I told Ryan I found out about the suspension kit from 318ti.org and he sold me everything for $650.00 cash. I drove down to Orange County to meet him and installed them later that night. The ride is incredible. The drop is about 1.25 inches all around. I have the 16" Style K BMW wheels from a 328is and it tucks the tread in the rear (225/50 16). I highly doubt that the shocks are the TC model but there is truly no way of really knowing. One thing is for sure, they are engraved with "Made in Germany" and have a part number engraved as well. Unless you have a contact at Bilstein, you'll never know the truth. The springs were stamped with Racing Dynamics and a part number, that was it. The best price I got quoted for Bilstein HD's was $565 if I paid cash. I figure for another $85 why not get some springs with it. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that these Bilsteins shocks are at least the HD's and possilby the Sports. In conclusion, I'm satisfied and happy with the ride. Take care guys. | | | 07-16-2008, 06:13 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | nice thanks for the input! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
