But I am suprised if none of you guys have experienced prolongued brake pedal (due to increased compressibility of the top layer of the pad) at track days. It is quite common on BMWs in my club.

PS! I do alwas start a track season with new pads, fresh fluid (Castrol SRF or ATE Typ 200) and bleed my brakes (the old way) at the end of each track day.
I have had no brake problems. Occasionally I will got a glaze or deposits when I swap from street to track pads. But have not had a loss of pedal.

When my pads get down to below 1/2 I start watching them.
When they get down to ~.18" (4-5mm) I keep a closer eye and depending on the track and conditions I may replace them or wait another day.

Someone always gets screwed when there is a race at a DE. Usually the racers. I have yet to have attend a combined race/DE where a mess had to be cleaned up resulting in either the race to be scratched or student run groups to be shortened.

Typical driving schools also include classroom instruction.
At our schools schedule 4 ~25 minutes sessions. Skid pad and instruction each day. Students get two periods of free time, plus lunch,
We also have 3 tracks. One track rus 3 groups with 15/group. It's only 1.1 miles. Another is 20/group (2 miles). The 3rd is around 2 miles but we have access to the skid pad from the paddock and to give instructors a break we have 4 groups of 20 so instructors don't have back to back students. It's a full day,
