Angry Car died.

For any Indy people this occurred at the, Lapel exit off of I-69. I was driving down I-69. Gauges start to flicker and dim seconds later ABS light comes on followed by every other warning light. Tach, speedo, and every other guage drop to zero. OBC goes nuts reading -5 degrees outside. Headlights dim and turnoff.

This all happened really quickly like with in a minute or two that it took to go a mile so I could actually pull off the interstate at a safe location. As soon as I pulled off on the exit ramp the car lost power steering and died. I coasted to the edge of exit ramp and pulled off in the grass.

An hour later car started well enough to drive to a gas station and was on a flat bed to the dealer.

Car is now at Dreyer and Reinbold BMW.

I suspect the alternator, but it was dark with no good chance to examine the car. I checked the battery and the cables were on fine. The car would start and run after resting for 30 minutes. Anyone else have ideas as to what could be wrong?
