Default ST Suspensions ST-XTA coilover review

So I've had the ST Suspensions XTA coilovers on my 318ti for about 3 months now, and thought I'd post about my experience.

I couldn't find anyone online who'd installed these on 'ti except for one recommendation by word of mouth, and took a chance. Hopefully this post helps anyone who is in the market and happens to stumble upon it.

At $1700aud delivered from DemonTweeks in the UK, I think these are excellent value. The ST brand is part KW suspension and these coilovers show similarities to much more expensive KW sets, including the camber tops (which seem to be the same as those used on the top of the line V4 Clubsport). They are made in Germany, at the same facility as KW.

The dampers used are single adjustable (rebound-only), and provide an comfortable ride. After some experimentation my preference for daily-driving seems to be as recommended in the manual, but with the rear set one click harder.

The spring perches are made of a composite fibre-reinforced plastic (rather than metal) which I imagine will resist binding and corrosion well, this may be an advantage to those who live in colder climates.

They do not come with shortened front sway bar links as some other kits do, but that hasn't been a problem for me even after a ~40mm drop in ride height.
