Motor cut off on Freeway today,YAY!

Hey guys!

More exctitng motor issues.....was wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions before I hit the shop!

Im on the freeway in 4th, all of the sudden I lose accelleration completely going about 70mph. im pushing gas pedal and not going anywhere!

I downshift into 3rd and still no acceleration while pressing the pedal to the metal. Then the next thing I know.... motor dies.

I was able to have enough speed to pull over and rest it on the shoulder. I tried to start the car on the shoulder and it started, but no gas while im pumping the pedal. when I start it, it turns over, putters and then dies.

After multiple attemps I decided to just let it be instead of flooding the motor with fuel. I checked all of my vaccum....everyhting looks good.

Im thinking fuel pump or fuel filter maybe? too dark to try and do more trial and error.
