Default Anyone had to lift rear to fit wheels and tires?

I am installing 235/40/18 on my 95 ti and it looks like there may be rubbing issues in the rear. Does anyone have experiances on a ti with coil spacers or shims?

the spacers you're talking about will make the car ride like crap. Either get wheels with proper offset or roll your fenders. I wouldn't sacrifice handling for looks.

Offset and tire would be the best information to provide.

Some tires run much wider than advertised. 245x45x17 direzzaZ1 on et40 wheels will rub if you have a significant drop in the rear. Even after a lot of fender rolling.. 235x40x17's however, fit just fine.. The Z1 245 is almost as wide as a normal all season in 250 or 255. Of course, the exact amount of drop, and any other modifications like camber/toe adjustability in the back will dramatically change what can fit.

If you buy the correct type of spacers for your wheels, they will not affect the handling of the car. But if you are rubbing on the outside, which is usually the case with rear wheels, a spacer is not going to do anything for you.
