Default Will //m coupe or roadster swaybars work on a ti?

I took my car to get new shoes (dunlop direzza star spec's) put on yesterday at mcb's in Pittsburgh (great place btw )

and he was talking to me about how the front is from a e36 and the rear is e30. and asked if the coupe or roadster sways would fit on there? Anyone ever try it?

thanks,
Dave

Yeah, I have an M coupe rear sway that I am going to install one of these days. It is 19mm diameter opposed to the active's 14mm. Problem is that the rear sway bar mounting tabs need to be reinforced for anything over the sport sway bar (16mm). Turner sells a kit but it needs to be welded in, not that big of a job though.

Other than that the M coupe rear should bolt right up just need the right size bushings and brackets. I believe the rear endlinks are the same part number between the M coupe and ti.

I have a 28mm eibach front sway bar. I think the M coupe front bar mounts to the struts like the E36 M3. It is probably a smaller diameter than the stock ti bar because of that.

The M coupe front is designed to have the swaybar attach to the front struts. The ti has the front bar attach to the control arms. For this reason the M coupe front sway bar is a smaller diameter than the stock ti active bar. (23mm M vs 25mm ti).

M http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...66&hg=31&fg=05

ti http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...20&hg=31&fg=10

If you mount the M bar to the control arms you will be worse off. If you have struts with the swaybar tabs you can mount the M front bar to the struts and have an upgrade.

Edit - I went over to the Z3 classified section on bimmerforums and posted a wtb ad for a 19mm M coupe rear sway. I got a lot of people pm'ing me. Only the S52 M coupe came with the 19mm rear bar. The roadster and S54 Coupes have an 18.5mm rear sway bar.
