But what i have gathered from the info i have found that it is located on the side of the Radiator passenger side. Am I correct? Maybe a picture would help. Also I read that I could put a 80/88 temp switch in is this a good mod or is this the standard temp. Thanks in an advance. | | | 06-27-2012, 07:51 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | You are correct on the location. 80/88 is stock temp for the ti. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 06-27-2012, 07:58 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Broomfield,Colorado Posts: 664 | Awesome thanks for the confirmation, I like to double check before i go replacing the wrong parts | | | 06-27-2012, 09:26 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Quote: Originally Posted by black98 I like to double check before i go replacing the wrong parts | That's never a bad idea... Also, be careful when removing/installing the switch- the switch is brass; the radiator, however, is only plastic... over-tighten it and you'll be replacing more than a fan switch. | | | 06-27-2012, 11:36 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Broomfield,Colorado Posts: 664 | Thanks zoner for the tip Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2 | | | 06-28-2012, 04:41 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | I have read that turning on the a/c, starts the fan. Does the fan ever run without the a/c on? | | | 06-28-2012, 05:03 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Broomfield,Colorado Posts: 664 | Yea it runs just fine the issue I am having is the fan comes on to late. The temp needle will raise to 3/4 and then the fan will come on and then it will go back to half. Big scare the first time it did that. Po did a cooling refresh on it. So no worry about the cooling system. Just the fan coming on to late. That why the Rad switch replacement Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2 | | | 06-28-2012, 05:40 AM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2012 Location: ventura Posts: 14 | wow nice . i wanna do alotta mods to my bmw but affraid to | | | 06-28-2012, 02:02 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Broomfield,Colorado Posts: 664 | No need to be afraid.
