This is the second time I came back to test drive, but the salesman I was dealing with wasn't there. I was going to make it mine today. I love the way the car feels and it was peppy and smooth. I come from a 8 year Honda tuning background and wanted to try a Euro. I think the Ti is a good platform to start with. Any guru's thoughts for a Ti noob? __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | 08-04-2009, 11:24 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | just scour every part of this forum as far as maintenance and common problems... the "thinkin about buying a ti" section is a good starting place. There is a wealth of knowledge here, so don't be afraid to ask anything. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 08-04-2009, 03:03 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Bolt-on mods don't add much (if any) power to the 4 cyl, except for the downing atlanta supercharger (DASC). If you want power it is easy to do a 6 cyl engine swap. These cars can really shine in the corners with a good suspension set up. They are definitely cool little cars being RWD and relatively lightweight. If you have any specific questions just ask. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 08-05-2009, 05:29 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Chicago Posts: 111 | Thanks for the advice. I bought it and brought it home today. I paid $2998.00 + tax. Not bad for a car where everything works right out of the door. No I have to fix this and that. It's the perfect daily driver, clean, crisp, and respectable. Definitely 10 steps up from the 93 rusty corolla I used to drive as a daily. I will post pics tomorrow. Right now I'm on cloud 9 with my first BMW. __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | 08-06-2009, 08:00 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Burlington, NJ Posts: 560 | Congrats and Welcome! __________________ 1996 318ti - 2000 Z3 2.3 - 2012 MINI Cooper Hatchback | | | 08-06-2009, 11:47 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Safety Harbor, FL Posts: 112 | get some pictures inside and out... maybe under the hood? I owned a 1992 325i last year, and well, the car was pretty much how i wanted. boston green, automatic, sunroof, and trip computer. the car has 148,00 miles on it, the sound system is good, seats are ehated and good, ac is fine, suspensioin is fine, so is break. Tires are bad, 2k miles on it, check engine light is on. =\ that hurt. he said its probably a sensor and that he can use his cpmputer or w.e to shut the light off, but that annoyed me really bad. and it was fun to drive, but i felt like it was too heavy. | | | 08-07-2009, 04:35 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Chicago Posts: 111 | __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
