Thumbs up Z3 TA Arm-

In the process of swapping in a newer Z3 arm.
So far everything is good except I didn't get a new parking brake cable in time. The z3 is mint but too short. The old was burned a little in the removal process and is now junk.
The output shaft collar nut was a bear and only heat would do. I should have had a replacement(s) collar nuts and retainers. I'm crossing my fingers on one that came in today.

oh- also the hard line that runs along the arm is fitted different up top. Since my old is way worse, I'ma try to modify it tomorrow with new hose to work.
---ABS sensor will not come out of the old arm. The Z3 arm has the same sensor but with a black plastic cap on the magnet/probe(?). So I'm crossing my fingers there too, that the newer style will work and maybe is better..?
ABS sensors don't seem to be cheap...I'm scared to look.
Last so far is the bolt into the bottom of the shock is .5" longer with a spacer on the Z3 arm, but the old should work fine.

So I'll be able to confirm for unfortunate future bent arms, a Z3 arm will indeed swap when avail. I got mine with a good shock, rotor, bearing, knuckle, sensor, park brake, etc...for $125 so shop around. The Z3 arm will be more common.

Angry ah crap....

wrong axle nut....wrong brake hose....dammit...

WHY DID MY rear BILSTEIN SPORTS NOT COME WITH A SUITABLE dust / boot cover?
the stock cover will not go over the new bilstein.......I had to cut to length of 4.5 inches and will hope for the best for now.

$100 a corner you'd think the rears would come with cover too.
What's the word on this..?? not needed?

proper parts ordered...now I'm finished until saturday.....so unprepared....
FUDGE!!!

Unhappy live and learn...

That's not the right collar nut....oh the hose is correct, but why is a collar nut so hard to order? Oh this is for the front? Front of what? It'll be in monday? Well we've been playing this game all week, I could had ordered the brake cable and had that in. Why didn't I? I was relying on you getting the collar right the 1st time, then the 2nd, sorry had I known I had this room for shipment....I would have gone with the dealer, but I guess since you're breakin my balls when you ordered it wrong again...i'll wait until monday now. You wanna talk to import Bill and tell him why my car is still in his shop?

It's just a collar nut.

Unhappy Finished rear

Well....I got the rear done finally.

The z3 arm also had issues with the ti rotor and the caliper. You have to use Z3 rotors for the caliper to fit right, offset is different.

With the final step of remounting my wheel, I fell to my knees in disgust.

My wheel is STILL toed out...exactly the same as it was. All this trouble for nothing.
Must be a subframe issue. I compared measurements while underneath, and it seemed to be fine.
I guess down the road i'll try some bushing adjusters.

Also the camber(castor-tilt in?) is a lot different than the other side. It is tilted in way more than the passenger side.

The only good news is the sport bilsteins are the shizz. they ride like a dream.

I'm sill bummin though....
