Default So i did my water pump today.

I had a brand new plastic one sitting around and i had yet to do it since the swap was finished (S50 US) But to my amazement when i removed the old pump it was already a metal one, BUT! it looked to be made of a brass or bronze material?????! i scratched it to see if it was a buildup it was not.

So anyone know if this is a stock metal pump? i thought they were stainless or something? Kind of confused why i have a brass impeller in there.

Thanks.

I believe the stock ones had plastic impellars, so maybe someone already replaced yours. Stewart High Performance water pumps have stainless or machined impellars.

Yeah i knew the stock was plastic, The stuart is a Machined Impeller and the OEM one is a stainless i believe, I've never seen a bronze one or brass i believe it was cast i know that much.

I have just never seen one like this for sale or in a thread ANYWHERE.
Its weird i just want to know who made it, And if i should replace it.
The impeller looked great, No build up cracks or stressed areas, bearing were quiet and spun freely.
