Default Suspension Overhaul

So all my shocks and bushings are trash on my poor little Ti.

I was thinking about putting in new shocks by finding a set of e36 318 front shocks and 318 e30 rear shocks.

Would this work? I would imagine the valving would be pretty close since the weight is about the same.

Im just curious if its cheaper to find both of these new in box, than buying a Ti specific set of front and rear shocks and paying more money.

What brand to you have in mind?

From the top of my head, it seems like it would be the same price either way for most shocks. Bilstein only makes M & non-M front shocks, so you would buy the non-M version. Then just buy the Bilstein E30 rear shocks (not for the convertible models). No difference whether they are for a 328i or 318ti. Maybe resellers even give a discount to package deals instead of individual pairs too.

Well, there is a guy on SD CL selling rear shocks new in box cheap because he's clearing old inventory. If I get new fronts I may be able to save quite a few bucks. Piecing it together - albeit slowly- can make it half the cost for all new parts. But this only works as long as I don't need to find Ti specific parts.
