light globe compatiablilty

I'm looking to upgrade my light globes for more light output without going HID. most of the 'straight swap' globes are made in the more common sizes like H1, H7 and the other H size, but not HB3/HB4

I was wondering if the H7 globe would fit into our light socket and connector?

(this is a bit difficult searching for it coz H7 and HB3 is too short for the search function, and google keeps pulling pages with all different light globes but nothing to do with compatiablitity with the connection).

otherwise, how hard would it be to change the connectors to a H7 connnector?

Pretty difficult, I think. H7 just uses spade type connectors with a ground to the base and a metal clip to hold it in. HB types are plastic socket-connectors.

You can get HB in overwattage, but you're more limited by the wiring than anything.

hmmmm. The HB3/HB4 bulb types aren't as common as I'd like, in terms of upgrading to a brighter light without going illegal.

are there any alternatives?

i don't want to go over 65W, due to wiring and legal issues.
i don't want the coated bulbs that give off the bluish tint.

say i change the connectors to H7's, would there be any problems attaching the bulb to the lamp assembly?

Well, that's the major issue. The connectors you can just crimp on.
