I wonder if the roller bearings are necessary (I would only worry about dirt after awhile) Easy to try and easy to undo if you don't like it. Honest price too considering the machining and bearings. | | | 02-06-2011, 10:43 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: new york Posts: 511 | I was thinking its pretty smart but i am curious if it will work correctly before i buy it. Anyone else with smeother info or how the feel about this? | | | 02-06-2011, 10:58 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | Adding yet another link to the BMW shift linkage does not seem ideal, especially given the countless other options out there. I also see clearance issues on some models when lowering the selector rod. The roller bearings are interesting however. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! Just get a Z3 lever and be done with it. I bet you will have clearance issues with both. Anyone replacing anything on the shift linkage should replace the bushing at the transmission and the bushing at the pivot point to resport shifter feel. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! | The Z lever does both... to be clear however, shorter height does in fact equal shorter throw. Please post how the install goes. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! The others could have contact to the cardan shaft. | | | 02-07-2011, 05:41 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Earth Posts: 178 | Hmm.. does look like it will be long, as long as it fits, and the throw isn't too short (how come all the 'moneyshift' occurs on the 6's? I thought M44 was interference too?) Just remembered our 318ti driveshaft has that big bell bolted to it too, larger than the guibo, takes up more space. You might want to crawl underneath to make sure there is enough room.. | | | 02-07-2011, 07:12 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | | | | 02-08-2011, 12:16 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | dang, i should've invested in a Z4 lever instead haha... __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit!
