Default EBC Greenstuff

I've seen quite a few ads and noted a few reccomendations from members here..

the problem with my stock brake kit isn't so much the performance.. it's the brake dust

Greenstuff claims to reduce 40% brake dust, but my neighbor, who uses it on his Celica said he sees almost none.. does anyone here have peformance data on these, because 120$ a set seems awfully comfortable paired with my plan for new 18"s in a month or so

My buddy put the on his Mustang and didnt notice much a
difference at ALL.
I guess some of it would also depend what kind of pads you
had on before.
There 40% reduction claims are probably 40% less than the
dirtiest and nasty brake pads you can get.

i have ridiculous brake dust though.. so it might be worth it (should i just go with redstuff?) - i think they are 30$ more a set and claim 60% reduction and i've heard numerous stories that they are legit

I dunno, ive been thinking about upgrading myself,
i drive REALLY hard, which also means braking REALLY
hard, and if i want clean wheels it seriously means
cleaning EVERY DAY!!!
So i just drive around with nasty looking rims all the time.

I have been using the EBC greenstuff for a few years and liked them until last year when I did my last brake change. They F-in suck now. Too much dust. Don't get them! I think they are made differently now compared to how they used to be. I barely had any brake dust between washes but now they make my wheels almost black in between washes.

The Porterfield R4S pads are extremely low dust, and as a street pad, they don't have to be super hot to work correctly.

I believe the red stuff pads are a track pad? If so, they may not react quickly enough in a panic stop situation on the street...

Put greenstuffs on (front only) last week. Drove to Milwaukee and back (almost 500 miles) over the weekend.

No dust. None. Wheels are spotless. The rears have some dust, but then again, the rears never seemed to get more than a little.

Good pedal feel as well. I'm 100% satisfied.

Default EBC Greenstuff V4

Resurrecting this thread to ask for more opinions.
Apparently there is a new formula out called Greenstuff V4.

I picked up a set at Pep Boys yesterday when I was getting my k!ckass stock NGK plugs for $3.99. The sale flyer had a pic of the EBC pads with a big red dot saying "25% off!" Rang up as $56. I remembered that price from when I had called several weeks before to ask about their selection of Hawk pads. I pointed to the flyer and asked if that was the -25% price. Manager was nearby, apparently didn't want to quibble at the end of a long Saturday, and told the cashier to just do it. Rang up -25% as a "Saturday morning special," $42. Looks like the going rate on the web is ~$70, so I may have received more like 40% off.
If anyone else is interested, sale goes through April 7, maybe longer.

Question is: are these the best pads for $40 - 50, or would, say, Pagid be better for mostly street use?

I was satisfied with Pagid, much less dust than stock and very quiet. Pads and rotors have both lasted about 25k miles (guesstimate) and still have about 2mm left to go.
