James and I discussed a particular drivers seat repair where I should remove the cover for the repair. I have new hogg rings and the pliers for the job, any other recommended tools needed or insight required for this job? Nothing in our forum, I'll look around as well. Thanks! __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Step three: remove the plastic trim pieces where the handles were. Again, they just pop into place, they have a very small catch on the sides that pop into the internal lever mechanism. Step four: remove the 2 torx screws from the bottom corners of the seat back panels. The seat backs should now come off. Just pull gently straight back. The seat back section is held onto the seat frame by the leather, which is stretched over the seat back frame and attaches to numerous holes in the leather which fit over sharp tines integrated in the frame. Two hog rings are utilized to attach a flap at the bottom of the seat section which is mostly underneath the lower seat section. You may need to pop the lower section up some to reach those hog rings. Also, if you have heated seats, the wiring for the element is routed behind the flap on its way to the bottom. I've done the seats on my E28 and figured they were similar. You just confirmed it. Thank you... I actually used the leather/foam sections from a set of e32 seats that had the dreaded seat twist. Was able to swap over the heating elements, adjustable lumbar support and seat belts with no issue onto the e34 frame. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I have a pair of 16W Comfort seats out of a 750il with the lumber support, heat and active seat... Should I swap components? Nah... On a different note, let's try to break your three ti jinx soon. Maybe Joe and Don might want to come out to Andrus island. Perhaps Coyote in S.R. can come too. I'll try not to blow up my cooling system again... There is another new member about 5 miles from me I need to PM... And, just to clarify, the e32 seat sections and accessories will only fit the e34, not the e36 seats. Not going to happen, but the features would be cool in the seats. Thinking late may/early June. I'll drop a note in the regional area to check for interest. Started the Magic Mender repair on Sunday, multiple layers with dry/cure/sand times of 24 hours in between each layer. Will final sand and color later today if it looks smooth at this point __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org!
