Default found oil in sparks!!

hey guys.. i changed my spark plugs the other day with the NGK R platinum.. dont know if they are the greatest or not but i got a good deal on them and when i went to take out the spark plugs i noticed that the first 2 sparks had oil on them.. last 2 were dry.. im assuming that my valve gasket is shot??? now my question if i am correct.. how much does it cost to get it fixed.. how much does the gasket cost, where can i find it.. and about how much would u estimate if i took it into a machianic would he charge me..

I'm trying to source all the parts from one supplier...KO is cheap, and has everything but the oil stem seal.

Default I have the same problem.

Well.......the cost of the valve cover gasket and the spark plug seals are very cheap. I got mine from Pelican and cost under $30.00 for all including shipping.
It will take roughly 2-4 hrs of labor, I will be doing the work myself as I'm going to paint the valve cover in the process. It's an easy but tedious work as thee are a lot of parts to uninstall, such as my strut brace, the coil pack, the AC/Heat Filter cover to make room.
I just replaced my water pump, thermostat and belts within 2hrs; I don't know how capable or willing you are of doing your own car work.
A mechanic will easily charge you a couple of hundred dollars (or more) just to do the work to replace parts that are only $30.
Good Luck

Does the m42 also need that oil stem seal? I can't find anything comparable in pictures and not sure of the part number.

i just did my plugs too and i found a little oil on two of them. i'm talking like five or six drops - not even enough to cover the bottom of the hole - and the plugs hadn't been changed in 45,000 miles. should i worry now or not?

I ended up paying the man to change my valve cover gasket. Had family in town and couldn't get to it. Charged me 1 hour of labor to do the work.
