My boyfriend told me I need to replace everything in my door panel for my window except for the motor. What exactly do I need? I want to know myself and I hate asking him, haha! | | | 09-05-2008, 09:09 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Window regulator and plastic clips. realoem.com for part numbers. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 09-05-2008, 09:23 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Rensselaer, NY Posts: 254 | I recently did this same job on my car. When I went to the dealer I had the part numbers I needed and everything. They didn't even need them, all I had to say was my window in my ti was acting up and they knew exactly what I needed. Apparently they go through those things like water. Good luck! | | | 09-05-2008, 09:57 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Dunmore, PA Posts: 8 | I'm definitely not going through the dealer for parts, way too expensive. But my boyfriend was telling me something about I need tracks for the window or something?? | | | 09-06-2008, 12:06 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | The tracks are attached to you window. You may want to check the verticle tracks inside the door to see if they are not bent. But all you need is a new window regulator and clips. I'm going through this right now. Just waiting for my window regulator to come in. I got my clips from pelicanparts i bought a lot incase i need some in the future. | | | 09-06-2008, 04:31 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Rensselaer, NY Posts: 254 | I think I only payed 16.50 after my BMW CCA discount. I didn't replace the tracks though. Funny thing, that all happened last week and last night the same window I fixed slipped out of the track again. I'm going to go out and look at it now. | | | 09-07-2008, 02:19 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | Quote: Originally Posted by DaedHead8 I think I only payed 16.50 after my BMW CCA discount. This was the 2nd time for that side, the driver's side fell in once before. I just put everything back in place, didn't replace anything but new grease. Buying a new regulator would only be necessary if the original one got so bent up. __________________ 1998 (July) 318ti, 5-spd OEM Armrest Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD50 CD Player/Compact Drive MP3 Player Diamond Audio 5.25" rear speakers Navman ICN 530 GPS BMWALARM.COM (with comfort settings) after market alarm system Magnecor 8.5mm wires M-Z3 Shifter/Momo Knob Burlwood Dashboard Stromung Exhaust X-brace Racing Dynamics Front Strut Bar Carbonio C.A.I. 17" Rial Rims Vader Seats/Heated/Lumbar Support M-tech Steering Wheel/Front Sway Bar/Front & Rear Bumper Depos/w 6500K Angel Eyes/6000K HIDs Clear Corners M3 Mirrors UUC Light Weight Flywheel/M5 Clutch/M3 Clutch Slave E28 3.46 LSD/Mcoupe Cover/E30 Flanges & Halfshafts UUC S.S. For now I just got the window up and running again but I don't want to use it so I disconnected it. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
