I'm lucky enough to have a wife that not only enjoys racing, but also enjoying repairing and modifying cars as well. Her previous track car was a 1999 318ti with Bilstein/ H&Rs, Hawk HP+ pads and a lightweight flywheel. Since I sold my E46 M3, this car is currently my daily driver. Out with the old: The replacement: Last edited by dahamler; 11-15-2011 at 02:37 AM. | | | 09-26-2009, 04:58 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Monterey, CA Posts: 770 | During a trip to New Jersey, I had the chance to take a look at a swapped 1995 332ti that was posted by a member here in Pennsylvania . His asking price was $7500 but after some negotiating we settled on $5600 delivered to Massachusetts. The owner was a great guy and dropped the car of the next day. The car began its life as an 1995 auto 318ti with about 161k on the chassis. The swap originated from two M3s one a auto sedan (engine 61k) the other was a convertible (76k transmission, suspension, etc.). The swap was certainly completed on a budget but overall mechanically sound. On the list of thing to do is: New front wheel bearings (competed) Correct OBDI wiring conversion (using a manual harness) 21 lbs injectors and a TRM tune (currently running stock software) New interior (completed thanks to Tony) New front and rear bumpers (M-Technic) New steering wheel 3.15 LSD (currently has a 3.73) Cooling System Refresh During his trip he managed to get a speeding ticket (105 in a 65), loose the front corner light and drag some the wiring harness (slightly damaging one of the connections. (size, style #, offset) They look very nice. I think I've convinced my gf to auto-x for her first time in a few weeks. She's going to co-drive my bone stock 318ti. My former car that I auto-xed was a bit intimidating for her (360hp camaro), but she thinks this one is cute. | | | 09-26-2009, 05:16 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Novi, MI Posts: 115 | Wow, just saw the most recent posts...looks like you have some work to do! | | | 09-26-2009, 05:18 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Monterey, CA Posts: 770 | The red 318ti in the first pic has Mille Miglia MMII (I think) 17x7, Kosei K1s are are pictured (current track wheels) 16x7 both are 40+ offst. | | | 09-26-2009, 05:22 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Monterey, CA Posts: 770 | Last edited by dahamler; 08-23-2011 at 07:58 AM. | | | 09-26-2009, 05:24 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Monterey, CA Posts: 770 | Last edited by dahamler; 08-23-2011 at 07:59 AM. | | | 09-26-2009, 08:01 PM | #10 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | dibs on vaders | | | 09-26-2009, 10:41 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by BMW_Hatchback dibs on vaders | DAMMIT!!! it was right in my area too that's a really nice ti, kinda cool that you have 3 in the family | | | 10-11-2009, 04:06 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Boston, MA Posts: 1,152 | Wow great work done Dan!!!
