I want to add wider lips but im not sure how wide i can go or what their current offsets are. They are 9 inches wide. The barrels are 7.5" and the lips are 1.5". Can anyone tell me what the offset would be? Thanks! | | | 11-30-2010, 03:04 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I believe that would make them 19mm offset | | | 11-30-2010, 04:15 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Boston MA Posts: 135 | thanks tifreak. what do you think is the widest lip i would be able to run without any problems? or would i have to switch to 6'' barrels in order to accommodate for wider lips? | | | 11-30-2010, 05:18 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak I believe that would make them 19mm offset | Are you being serious? We don't even know what kind of wheels they are. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=101 Just measure the offset yourself. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 11-30-2010, 05:37 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Boston MA Posts: 135 | They are 17'' AC Schnitzer Type 2 racing wheels. The centers come straight down on the front side of the outer lip. so when they are put together it goes barrel, then outer lip then the center screwed in on top (inside the outer lip). So there is a 3'' difference between the center face and width/2 giving me a 76mm offset. I dont think these are going to fit haha | | | 11-30-2010, 06:13 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Have you tried bolting them to the car to see where they sit? __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 11-30-2010, 09:04 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Boston MA Posts: 135 | i havent had a chance to put them on my car yet but if i have time this weekend i will give that a shot | | | 12-01-2010, 02:14 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by spidertri | I figured it was just the measurement from the edge of the barrel to the face, now that I think of it I forgot to account for the center part of the rim where the bolts go sticking in farther | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | I'm Lost on OFFSET! | nakadian | Wheels and Tires | 5 | 08-23-2009 11:04 PM | lowest offset? | applecrisp | Wheels and Tires | 0 | 02-23-2009 07:11 AM | what is the offset of 318ti | nodoubt911 | Wheels and Tires | 1 | 07-15-2008 09:16 PM | 45 offset | albi901 | Wheels and Tires | 1 | 10-14-2006 03:02 PM | Offset | DaNO | Wheels and Tires | 2 | 01-15-2005 08:31 AM | |
