New stock replacement front control arm bushings (aftermarket rubber) $20 Small diff case cover, bushing is shot. $20 -Pay for a new bushing and I'll install it for 10 bucks. Does it have the plastic water elbow in the rear of the cylinder head? | | | 04-12-2011, 02:00 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | No it does not. It's OBDI, has a crank trigger on the crank pulley, aluminum thermostat housing... It surprised me also... I was hoping to purchase an M44, but it ended up being the M42. It does have an undrilled bung on the back of the block for the crank trigger. It's an oddball mid year motor, because it was out of a 96 (not sure on the build date though) It's also got a newer style TB, but the lower is different and doesn't have a DISA, just a smaller blockoff plate. The car also had a MAF, which M42s aren't supposed to have AFAIK. I also forgot to mention that I also have 4 new coil packs that are the type used for the COP conversion. They are aftermarket, brand new in box. __________________ No more ti. | | | 04-12-2011, 03:53 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Well, then I stand corrected! My guess is that it may have been a 1996 model year car that was built sometime between 8/95 and 12/95, as I don't believe the US OBD-II requirements officially kicked in until Jan. 1, 1996, but most auto manufacturers just implemented it at the beginning of production for the 1996 model year (which usually starts around August or September). My M42 has a production date of 6/95 but has the aluminum oil filter housing and DISA. | | | 04-12-2011, 10:52 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Sounds about right, gotta love changeover model years. I need to find the VIN to be positive, but I didn't see it on the block when I was loading it up. __________________ No more ti. | | | 04-26-2011, 10:57 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Add to the list: side skirt clips and inserts (the little green plugs) I have about 10. I will check. I also now have sunroof sliders and slider blocks, used but in good shape. Pulled from a working sunroof, I had ordered new ones because I thought the rattle and dip on the one side was from them, but I was wrong. __________________ No more ti. | | | 06-09-2011, 11:39 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Stuart, Florida Posts: 9 | How much shipped for the alarm fobs, zip code is 34997? I am looking for one that has the two bumps that stick out on the left side of the cover which supports the shut off valve. PM me if you have it and give me a price. Thanks. | | | 07-25-2011, 04:07 PM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: Prince Edward Island, Canada Posts: 27 | How much for one of the alternators, what is the condition like? | | | 07-26-2011, 03:03 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | The M44 has a 96 cover. No bumps. Haven't tested the alts, they spin fine, I can test them out. Make an offer. __________________ No more ti. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
