It's a standard model with everything original. Nothing has been modified but a lot of things have been replaced which meant this car was in perfect condition when I got it. Not even a scratch on it. Sadly since then, one of the coolant hoses broke off the engine when the jubilee clip snapped and caused the engine to overheat badly. Because of this, I have a new engine coming soon to replace it. The scratch less body also picked up a scratch from where it has been sitting waiting for its replacement engine from all the kids playing around by it | | | 07-05-2012, 10:20 AM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2012 Location: Essex, United Kingdom Posts: 6 | Forgot to add that I'm also on the lookout for ideas on what I can to to modify my car slightly :P Any tips are appreciated! While i'm not really one for all show and no go, I do believe my 318ti could look a little better than it does as standard. Quite like the look of the Sport wheels which I think might subtly improve it. | | | 07-05-2012, 02:10 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | Welcome! Where there are kids there are dings and scratches waiting to happen. No matter how far away from the car you tell them to play they somehow manage to inflict some kind of damage to it. There are an abundance of wheel choices out there that will sharpen up your style. Ti's with various wheel combinations....Gives you some ideas for options. Lots of people like to upgrade the suspension, making the car tighter and more nimble. Makes up for in handling what the car lacks in power. It's one of the few things you can do to substantially improve the driving experience in the car if you stick with the standard motor and it's easy to install and completely reversible. There's so many things you can do to these cars, and plenty of things you shouldn't. You'll find your way __________________ | | | 07-05-2012, 02:12 PM | #4 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Welcome! | | | 07-05-2012, 02:15 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Tulsa, OK Posts: 252 | Hello and welcome! __________________ 1996 318ti base: m44, 5 spd, lsd - 18x8 bremmer kraft wheels w/sumitumo tires 225/40R18 & bmw locking lug studs, 10mm spacers in rear, halo headlights, cold air intake, koni str.t struts and shocks w/mounts, h&r sport springs, serp belts, control arm & tie rod kits, front sway bar links, JVC kd-x50bt headunit w/ipod hook up in the glove box, alpine sps-500(front and rear), jl audio 10" powerwedge max, jl audio 250.1 amp, motor mounts, fuel filter, passenger side window motor, drivers lower window run, muffler hanger kit, various interior bulbs, left door striker/ajar switch, lower hood latches, changed from gray vinal to black leather shift and parking brake boots, m3 weighted shift knob, ngk-r spark plugs, magnecor spark plug wires(blue),new cabin micro-filters,new headliner & a-pillar mouldings, 5w20 synth-blend oil and filter, BG Ultra Guard syn. rear end fluid & ls additive, BG Syncro Shift II syn. manual trans fluids, stainless steel braided brake lines and dot 4 fluid, extra brake light mod, new p/s reservoir and rubber hoses need to do - fix door panels, paint job, MORE MONEY!! | | | 07-05-2012, 08:45 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2012 Location: Essex, United Kingdom Posts: 6 | Quote: Originally Posted by Mr.Squeelerz | Ah that wheels thread is brilliant! A good suspension setup and some nice wheels will be the way to go for sure, for now at least, I need to get the front off and get ready to install the replacement motor. Maybe need to find a set of Style 18's until I get the money to go further | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
