Alright, as some would know, my car 328ti turbo is in the workshop this holiday period. It's awaiting to be built and put back together. While the car has been in the work shop, I thought it would be a good idea to pick up something in the mean time to use in the holiday season. I came close to buying 2 BMWs, but they had their own problems. The first one was a E36 318ti sports with serious suspension issues with the rear skipping out when cornering and hitting a small bump in the road. I became litterally scared for my life as I had planned to drive it back 600 miles on the @ 60mph+ freeway. The second was a BMW wa an E38 740iL. I was excited to pick this up, but my excitement quickly dwindled away when the seller forgot to provide the registration/transfer papers and the car overheated after travelling just over 1 mile to get petrol. Thought it may have just been low on coolant, but after topping up the radiator with distilled water, the coolant temps still continued to climb. Ended up walking away from that one too. So I'm still carless, and i'm having 2nd thoughts if I really should get another car after the drama I've had, but I'm just curious, if you have a 2nd car, what is it? and if you were going to get a 2nd car what would it be? I also wouldn't mind suggestions. I just need something reliable that won't break down, nothing high performance as that's what my main car is. Something that's not expensive and durable that I can park on the street without having to worry about it getting too messed up. Thanks in advance for your comments. Look forward to hearing your point of view on this. | | | 12-15-2009, 04:34 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Subaru with a 2.2L, the car will rust out long before the engine dies | | | 12-15-2009, 04:40 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Gilbert Posts: 621 | im looking into getting a little japanese car, mainly to save gas. im looking into a dc2 integra, or a s14 bodystyle 240sx. my bimmer deff needs a tune up and then some. im getting on average about 18 miles to the gallon. thats with me being easy on the throttle. __________________ *IF ITS FAST AND CHEAP, ITS NOT RELIABLE* *IF ITS CHEAP AND RELIABLE, ITS NOT FAST* *IF ITS FAST AND RELIABLE, ITS NOT CHEAP* | | | 12-16-2009, 11:44 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Central and Southern California Posts: 34 | My car WAS a 98 oldsmobile bravada. Today, I picked up an 88 AMC Eagle wagon. In a couple months, I intend to pick up something else with 4 doors that you guys might find a bit more exciting. In the mean time, here are some pics from the PO of the Eagle: http://picasaweb.google.com/kamakula/AMCEagle | | | 12-19-2009, 05:57 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | ^lol, I'd rock it | | | 12-19-2009, 08:20 AM | #15 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by zboot So, as you guys know, I've recently crashed my 328ti.
