Going from my garage to my local guy to the dealership to back to my garage. I installed a new starter, new immobilizer, but then after being told by the dealer my EWS II was the issue I installed a EWS II delete chip from Midnight Tuning. I have limited knowledge of what to do and I really need someone to help me out. If you are in the Chicago area and would like to help me please call 847 366 9192 Bobby | | | 12-25-2012, 04:50 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Jax, FL Posts: 541 | Symptoms? | | | 12-26-2012, 02:54 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: new jersey Posts: 41 | Quote: Originally Posted by Shellback Symptoms? | agreed. need some more details, like, does the vehicle crank and not start?? The dash lights, the headlights work but the clock does not turn on and the blower motor does not work. | | | 12-29-2012, 09:37 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: new jersey Posts: 41 | battery charge?? condition?? starter motor?? ignition switch?? do you have a test light?? if you are getting power to the solenoid then replace the starter. you may be able to get it to crank over if you could manage to tap on the housing with a long handle or somethign. if you have a dvom check the battery charge. df | | | 12-30-2012, 08:24 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2012 Location: Chicago Posts: 15 | 2 day old battery, trying to start on a battery charger, new starter, what is the ignition switch? Also, could a bad instrument cluster be preventing a start? | | | 12-31-2012, 11:46 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: new jersey Posts: 41 | try starting it in neutral, if it is an automatic. you could have a faulty neutral safety switch. the ignition switch is the switch that gets activated when the key gets turned. there's a 'start', 'run', 'accessory', and 'off', so the dash should be doing something when the key is turned. just cannot believe the shop threw parts at it, though.... df | | | 01-02-2013, 01:48 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Jax, FL Posts: 541 | Do all lights on the dash light up as you go through the starting sequence? | | | 01-02-2013, 06:00 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Auburn, Alabama Posts: 206 | Check fuses. (then it's a bad ground) it also sounds like it could be related to the key, maybe the ignition went bad and when you go to "start" the car only sees "on" and doesn't know to start. (bad switch, you can test by removing the trim and using a volt meter) could be the brain of the car too, or maybe some control box or relay went bad. Yeah, if your not handy with this stuff, try to find someone that will work on it on the side for like $20 an hour to at least find the problem. you could not afford a shop charging $80 an hour. if you were closer, i would look at it.. maybe post on Craigslist saying you are looking for someone who works on cars on the side. you will be surprised who will wanna make a fast $20+ in this economy best of luck, we are here to help tho, we just need details and what you did/how you did it and results to walk you though it Last edited by hotmilk400; 01-02-2013 at 08:03 PM. | | | 01-02-2013, 07:21 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by UberWagen Check fuses. You might want to put all original EWS, DME, Key if you do find it was only a fuse.
