It started out as a missfire at low rpm 's with a little load after quite a bit of driving. I am pretty sure it started before the trip. It would buck and then go away after the r's got up a little. About 2 miles from my house, the end of my nearly 4000 mile journey, it REALLY started to run crappy. This was about 2 weeks ago. Didn't hardly make it up the hills to my house. My girlfriend was sick of trying to keep it running so we swapped spots and during that short period it ran a little better. It got home. A couple days later I tried to get it going again and see how it would run, and well it didn't start. It popped off a couple times and that was it. I just got done swapping spark plugs, hoping that they were fouled. But that wasn't it either. Ideas? | | | 02-11-2013, 03:13 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: Montreal Posts: 283 | Any other recent maintenance? I wish I could find a picture of it. Under the hood is really clean. I'll give the fuel pump a check, but it was running for a few thousand miles after this started. Its snowing to beat hell here, so I'll have to wait to check on it some more. I need to get this fixed because I'm going to need to drive it to Portland soon…. I bought the car this fall and put a thousand miles on it. Then took it to Florida which was about 4000 miles total, left mid January came back late January. Thats when the issue became a huge problem. | | | 02-11-2013, 03:42 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2013 Location: Duluth Posts: 9 | well it would seem that my coil pack is dead. No spark seems to be the issue. Checked the number one plug grounded on the head and got nothing. | | | 02-11-2013, 06:48 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2013 Location: Duluth Posts: 9 | the third cylinder has spark, and I rechecked the first cylinder and that one has none. I didn't check the other two because I think its pretty clear that the coil pack is the problem. | | | 02-11-2013, 09:44 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | Glad to see you made it here! Sounds like you may have found the source of the problem. I'd be interested to know if the replacement pack resolves the issue. By the way folks, this was my old Ti. __________________ | | | 02-12-2013, 01:22 AM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2013 Location: Duluth Posts: 9 | That it is! And I love it! After putting in the new coil it popped off a little and started up. It miss fired some for about 10 seconds and cleaned up. I drove it around without any issues. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
