Hello, I'm new to BMW's and pretty much anything that isn't Japanese manufactured... I just recently perchance a 1993 BMW 318ti, which has no interior what so ever, no headlights, taillights, obx exhaust, no bumpers, and custom sub box with battery in trunk. None of that is the big issue for me, but the engine knocks when turned on, sounds raspey, and doesn't stay on unless you keep your foot on the gas pedal. Also, it only keeps rev's when the pedal it pushed all the way down. Extra info on it is it has no intake, maf, engine fan and I not too sure but i was told it couldn't be started, which was already out when I started it. Any help with this issue will do me wonders, Thankyou... | | | 03-18-2010, 01:41 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Quote: Originally Posted by inagawa it has no intake, maf | That is the problem. The 318ti wasn't introduced to the US until '95. Don't be suprised if it reads "318i". It's still a 318ti, BMW just printed 318i on the production plates for some reason. | | | 03-18-2010, 10:53 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: colorado Posts: 4 | Ok, lol I just check on the driver's door jam.. its. a 92" 318i....
