I had my radio out recently and maybe it will remind me of something. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti 2003 MINI Cooper S 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-07-2014, 06:22 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2013 Location: Hampton, VA Posts: 21 | here is a picture, i should also add it isn't for the radio or the climate control module. A comfort relay, for example, suggests a pre-9/95 coupe. | | | 02-08-2014, 03:37 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2013 Location: Hampton, VA Posts: 21 | Sorry, shes a 1997 318is prod month 10/96. I replaced the comfort module, the locking relay, and the alarm module, ive repaired the trunk harness and the comon floor wires on the drivers side were pristine, so i am now at a compleat loss Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk | | | 02-08-2014, 03:41 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | By comfort module and locking relay, do you mean just the general module / central chassis electronics (ZKE), with three connectors on the front, that lives behind the glovebox. Or something else or that and something else? What was wrong with the trunk harness (including wire colors and sizes, if you can remember them)? Various wires were either broken or missing there insulation, they have all been re soldered. (I just want to make sure.) | | | 02-08-2014, 04:00 PM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2013 Location: Hampton, VA Posts: 21 | Yes, that is my car, and those were the broken wires, they have been repaired. O.K., I wonder if the broken wires caused a short that burned out wiring elsewhere and/or the ZKE. At this point, I would print out the ZKE central locking system pages of the BMW ETM, section 5126.0, unplug ZKE connector X13252 and measure the resistances of each of the three locking bus wires, to ground and to each other, a total of six measurements on the plug: - pin 1 to ground
- pin 1 to 2
- pin 1 to 9
- pin 2 to ground
- pin 2 to 9
- pin 9 to ground
