Default What is hanging under my car?

These were taken from the passenger side of the car. Any ideas as to what this is? Thanks in advance.

Thats what I was thinking too. I wonder how it fell. I haven't hit any pot holes or otherwise bottomed out the car lately.

I'd just say rocks and crap thrown off the road will mess it up. Some of the bolts holding mine on have torn through the heat shield. If you get under there you can probably find some way to keep it up and in place.

yup, heat shield, the same thing's hanging down on my ti, I'm just too lazy to put it back up it's just rusted to the point that the bolt's pulled through, just put a couple self-tapping screws in

PS, anyone know if there would be any negative effects from removing it completely?

Isn't the heat shield resting on the exhaust the way its hanging down like that? I'd be worried to drive it too much in that state Pauly.

The heat shield corrodes around the bolt. Just use a thin but wide washer underneath the bolt.

So I go over to my dad's house today so I can lift the car and re-affix the heat shield (which went fine) and my passenger side front caliper starts locking up, so now that need to be replaced. I tell ya, with these cars, when it rains, it pours. =(
