can i swap my m42 engine for a s50 engine on my 1995 318ti? __________________

Different years arent even a question...
95 OBDI
96-99 OBDII
Those are the only two choices for On Board diagnotics, everything is the same as far as the swap goes.
OBDI, you cut one wire and plug it in and go.
OBDII you need EWSII aligned by the dealer, software to have it deleted, or install everytihng from the donor car.
