Default Rear Wheel Bearings after Diff Swap

All,
When I did my diff swap I did all new rear wheel bearings, lock plates, nuts, etc.

I have been an E30 guy for a long time so this is nothing new to me.
I have all the right tools to do it and have done it many times with success.

Now on my Ti,,, the rear wheel bearings developed significant play in 7000 miles, to the point they needed to be changed again which I just did.
I could not find any smoking gun as to why they failed but they were shot on both sides.

Has anyone else who has installed a Med case diff with E30 axles ever seen this happen?
Not sure if something went wrong in the install or if there is something in the swap I am overlooking.
They spin nice, no drag, axles slid right in both times (I do lots of spline prep on the bench so my axles always just slide in by hand).

I am baffled by this.
My car is otherwise stock, M44, 5 speed, stock sport package 16" wheels 100% street driven.
We will see how set 2 lasts...

Any thoughts?
Cheers
jimmy
