I had a motorcycle shipped to me from NY for 400 bucks using
www.uship.com. It basically works like ebay, except bidding is reversed so your shipment goes to the LOWEST bidder. You make a listing describing what you want to have shipped including the origin and destination, then freight/transporting companies bid on your shipment. You can set a limit on how much you're willing to spend and there's an option called "book it now" which works like "buy it now" on ebay. You can set a "book it now" price and if someone accepts your offer, you're obligated to use that company. It's been a few years since I used them, but the shipment/transaction went really smooth.
