Default 1995 318ti Active Hellrot Red for sale - $2500

It’s officially time for me to look for a more practical car than my 1995 318ti. My wife and I recently had a baby and since her car is a 2002 Honda Civic Si hatchback that means we have two hatchbacks and two kids which isn't working out so well. We're still making payments and upside down on her car which means mine has to go. It's not perfect and flawless but it's a decent car. Here's the pertinent info...

Basic Info:
Hellrot Red exterior
Black leather interior
15” basic 318ti allow wheels
169,XXX miles
I purchased this car from the second owner in May of 2007. The kid that I bought it from was a major douche and had not taken great care of her. I’ve done some work on her but it’s mostly been regular and/or preventive maintenance. I pulled a Carfax report right after I got her and I’ll be happy to provide that and also the VIN for a current Carfax report for anyone interested. Bottom line is that I am not a certified BMW mechanic but I have tried my best to take car of this car and have absolutely no problem being honest about any positives or negatives and will answer all questions to the best of my knowledge.

The Good:
Always a GA owned car so no rust anywhere
The interior is in overall great shape
All interior items work well – gauge lights, dash lights, HVAC controls, windows, sunroof, etc.
Fully functioning OBC
A/C works and blows cold – just recharged June 2009
Replaced Nose Panel from a 1997 model
Clear corner lights and side markers
Blacked out grills
K&N intake with heat shield
BAV Auto Sport Spark Plug Wires
Kenwood KDC-MP638U stereo
Has both Auxiliary input and USB input so you can hook up both an iPod and a second device, like Nav system.
I ran the USB input to the glove box so that an iPod can stay hidden
New rear speakers
Replaced/Repaired Items
Fuel filter – June 2008
Magnaflow catalytic converter - June 2008 (not sure of mileage at the time)
Rear Wheel Bearings on both wheels – January 2009
Swapped the old stock Diff for another used one – January 2009
All upper engine hoses and vacuum lines – June 2009
BAV Auto Sport Spark Plug Wires & Ignition Coil – June 2009, purchased used from Prussian Motors here on the board
Valve Cover Gasket – June 2009
All in all she’s been a very solidly running car for the two years that I’ve owned her. I’m more of a “car guy” than some guys and less than others but I’ve done a pretty good job of maintaining her and try my best to take care of my ride.

The Bad:
First and foremost the car was in a decent wreck before I bought her, which was not disclosed to me by the previous owner. I have driven it on the highways around Atlanta many times and have also taken about two road trips up to South Carolina and from what I can tell there is no pulling of any kind. There appears to be no frame damage and no funny tire wear.
A lot of the clear coat is worn off and there is definitely some fading in several areas.
Some hail damage on the roof, hood, etc.
There is some oil leakage from the oil pan area
When first started the car needs to idle for about 30 seconds or it will almost stall out. I had my mechanic clean the idle control valve (I think that’s the right term) but it didn’t fix the problem.
I have had trouble getting the car to pass GA emissions so I will probably have to get a new cat installed in the next few weeks.
Heat doesn’t really work very well. From what I have read on www.318ti.org that is a common problem with the 318ti’s caused by a cable that comes loose behind the dash. It doesn’t get cold enough in GA that I’ve really worried about it much so I haven’t fixed that yet.
The headliner is sagging, which is also normal for the 318ti.
Normal wear on the driver’s side seat bolster. It’s not torn or anything but the leather is starting to get worn some. The bolster still holds up though.

That’s all I can think of as far as major details. I will be happy to answer any questions and/or let anyone check her out. I'm not a BMW mechanic by any stretch but I'm also not dishonest and not out to rip anyone off. I'm open to offers as I do unfortunately need to sell it. If I'm way off base on my pricing then let me know, like I said I'm trying to make a fair sale not rip anyone off.

I'm also looking for a sedan so if you have an e36 sedan in good shape I will happily consider trades along with some cash on my end.
