The wife wants an automatic so a clutch won't be an issue. CVT's however have always been hit or miss. I hadn't heard of many head gasket or engine trouble's. It does concern me that they really are a 'low end' bmw despite how well the resale on them is. I kinda like the idea of a newer 5 series, or maybe even a late model 3. Down side is there rear wheel drive and I don't have an issue in the winter but the wife does, she would rather a front wheel drive in the snow. The other down side is most of the bmw line just doesn't get the mileage. I don't want my 'upgrade' to in reality be a downgrade. As bad as it may sound I've kinda been checking out the dodge caliber, pontiac vibe and a few others on that line. Kinda baffled how just about every 07 or newer car has so many problems. Quility seems to be way down across the board. May end up just keeping the ti, it's in better shape than many of the cars ten years newwer I've been looking at. |
