There is an undercarriage cover, but it certainly doesn't go all the way to the oil pan. It essentially protects the radiator and a/c compressor from rocks that might fly up. However, the probability of that happening is ridiculously low.
Most of the time, people drive up on curbs etc when parking, and the piece comes off. Dealers do not always replace the part. __________________
